Last updated: 27 October 2026

1. Who we are

The data controller for this website is Rheann Hart trading as Litterateur London, a sole trader. Rheann works professionally as Rae Hart. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Rheann Hart trading as Litterateur London.

Rae Hart is solely responsible for handling privacy requests and complaints.

  • Post: Litterateur London, 4th Floor Silverstream House, 45 Fitzroy Street, London, W1T 6EB
  • Email: rae@litterateur.co.uk

2. Information we collect

  • When you contact us: your name, email address, phone number (optional) and anything you write in your message.
  • When you visit the website: your device's internet (IP) address and basic technical details such as browser type. These are processed by our website host to deliver and protect the site, and by Google when the site's typefaces load. Your IP address is also held briefly in temporary memory to prevent repeated spam submissions, then discarded.
  • Only if you accept analytics cookies: how you use the site, collected by Google Analytics, including pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. We do not send your name, email address, phone number or message to Google.

3. Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • Replying to your enquiry and discussing our memoir interview services: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps you have asked for before entering into a contract.
  • Providing our services to clients: performance of our contract with you, and compliance with our legal obligations.
  • Keeping the website secure and preventing spam: our legitimate interests.
  • Understanding how the website is used: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We use these providers to run the website and our email:

  • Resend – delivers contact form messages to us by email.
  • Microsoft 365 – our business email, where enquiries are received and answered.
  • Lovable – hosts and delivers the website.
  • Google – supplies the website's typefaces and, only with your consent, Google Analytics.

We may also share information where the law requires it.

5. International transfers

Some of our providers process information outside the UK, including in the United States.

  • Resend, Microsoft and Google are certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which UK law recognises as providing adequate protection for transfers to certified US organisations. Resend's terms also include the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Lovable is based in Sweden, in the European Economic Area, which UK law recognises as providing adequate protection. The website is delivered through a global network, so technical information may be processed in other countries under the safeguards in Lovable's terms.

6. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to you becoming a client: kept for 12 months from our last relevant correspondence, then deleted during our regular manual reviews of our mailbox. Enquiries are not stored in a website database.
  • Client information: kept for as long as necessary to provide our services and meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting requirements, and reviewed regularly so that it is not kept longer than needed.
  • Analytics data: Google Analytics retains event-level data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months, in accordance with our configured retention settings. Some aggregated reporting data may be retained separately.

7. Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics does not run, and sets no cookies, unless you choose to accept analytics. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_… to count visits and see how the site is used. Advertising features are switched off.

You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the foot of every page. When you withdraw consent, we stop analytics and remove these cookies from this website. You can also delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.

8. Newsletters and marketing

We do not currently send newsletters or promotional emails. If we introduce them, we will only send them to people who sign up separately, and you will be able to unsubscribe at any time.

9. Memoir interviews

This policy covers our website and enquiries. If you take part in a memoir interview, we will give you separate privacy information before the interview. It will explain how any recordings, notes or published material are created, stored and used, ask for your permission where needed, and explain how long interview material is kept. Some interview material may be kept long-term where this is justified and you have been told about it.

10. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may have the right to:

  • Access – ask for a copy of your information.
  • Correction – ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Erasure – ask us to delete your information where we no longer need it or have no other legal reason to keep it.
  • Restriction – ask us to limit how we use your information in certain circumstances, for example while we check its accuracy.
  • Objection – object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests.
  • Portability – receive information you gave us in a reusable format, where we use it based on your consent or a contract and by automated means.
  • Withdraw consent – at any time. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew.

These rights are not absolute and some apply only in certain situations. If we cannot fully meet a request, we will explain why.

We will respond within one month. We may extend this by up to two further months for complex requests, and we will tell you if we do. We may need to confirm your identity first. Requests are usually free.

To make a request, email rae@litterateur.co.uk or write to the address above.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first at rae@litterateur.co.uk or the address above. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it promptly and tell you the outcome.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
